Every busy trading server has a few players who are not there to trade fairly. The good news: almost every scam follows one of a handful of patterns. Learn them once and you will spot them every time.

1. The last-second swap

The scammer offers a great fruit, waits until you are about to accept, then quickly swaps it for something cheaper or removes an item. If you accept on reflex, the bad deal goes through.

How to avoid it: slow down. Read the final offer again, item by item, right before you press accept. If the offer changed, cancel and start over.

2. The "trust trade"

"You give first, I will give you my fruit right after." Once you hand it over, they leave. There is no way to get it back.

How to avoid it: only trade through the trade window, where both sides change hands at the same time. Never give first.

3. Robux and real-money offers

Offers to pay in Robux, gift cards or real money for your fruit are a trap. The payment never arrives, or arrives and is reversed later. Trading for real money also breaks the game rules and can get your account banned.

How to avoid it: trade fruits for fruits, inside the game, and nothing else.

Links that promise free fruits, free Robux or a "value checker" that asks you to log in are built to steal accounts.

How to avoid it: never enter your Roblox password anywhere except the official Roblox site or app. Real tools, like our trade calculator, never ask you to log in.

5. Physical fruit passed off as permanent

A physical fruit and a permanent fruit can look like the same deal at first glance, but the permanent one is worth many times more. Scammers count on you not checking.

How to avoid it: confirm which version you are getting and switch it in the calculator. Our guide on permanent vs physical fruits explains the difference.

6. Fake values

"Your fruit is worth nothing now, the value dropped yesterday." Scammers quote made-up numbers so you accept less.

How to avoid it: check a value list yourself. The Blox Fruits value list shows every fruit's value, demand and trend, plus the date of the last update.

7. The middleman who disappears

Someone offers to "hold" both items as a neutral middleman. Then the middleman leaves with everything.

How to avoid it: the trade window already does the middleman's job. You never need a third person.

Habits that keep you safe

  • Never rush. Scammers love pressure and countdowns.
  • Keep big trades with players you can check, in public servers.
  • Use the calculator for every trade worth more than a few million.
  • If a deal looks too good to be true, it is.
